Google announced that, in the coming weeks, it will erase location history if it identified that an individual had visited an abortion or other medical facility.
In a blog post, a Google representative said the change in its location data gathering is due to the personal nature of some places people visit, including "medical facilities like counseling centers, domestic violence shelters, abortion clinics, fertility centers, addiction treatment facilities, weight loss clinics, [and] cosmetic surgery clinics."
